How do you modify the 'normal' template on Word?
OK.
How do you modify the 'normal' template on Word?
Because I can't work it out. Having used it for years for documents as long as 120,000 words, I can't work it out.
I am annoyed with the application, having trawled the Help pages and the Mactopia site and so annoyed I'm doing my best not to tap a stream of vicious invective into this little white box.

If you want your blank document your way, you have to use the Project Gallery, selected from the 'File' menu in the menu bar. You can't just apple-n your way to a default document that's formatted the way you need it, not just like that.
WORD IS CRAP. IT IS SO CRAP. DAMN, IT IS SO CRAP.
This might give you a bit more control over what you want.
Though this is all pure guessing - never done it myself.
You have to create a new template from the Save As menu and then move it to the Microsoft User Data folder (in Documents, of course silly!) and then trash the old 'Normal' template and then rename the new one Normal, having deleted the .dot extension!
Of course!
Isn't Word CRAP?

I spent two days opening word and seeing a US letter layout and american languages. I deleted the template, made new ones, deleted prefs etc. NOTHING WORKED. Eventually I managed it though.
WORD IS SHIT.
