USB Hub For Shuffle

Does anyone know of a good self-powered USB HUB that I can buy for around $10 that I can use to charge my iPod Shuffle? My dell laptop's USB ports do not supply enough power. All I need is one port...the apple charger is expensive and rather than pay $30 for just a charger, I would get a hub with more ports--unless you guys know of a reason why apples charger is better.

    If I use a self powered USB 1 HUB will this work, will it damage my shuffle?
