Honestly though... I wonder how they worked out QuickTime 7... last I looked it was still in testing. Maybe it was finalized today as well.

    Holy Shit.

    That is awesome news.

I cannot wait for Tiger. I've said it a hundred times on the Mac boards, and I'll say it again. I simply can't wait.

I hope it stops my god damn 2.5DP fans from revving...but I'm sure it won't. Still... looking forward to giving it a go.

This confirms my predictions of an announcement tomorrow and then the release around the 16th. I just hope they've sorted the .Mac syncing problems. I really can't wait. I'm going to travel to my local Apple store specially (90 miles away)! What are the queues normally like?

Can't wait for Tiger... the only new Mac I'll be getting for a while

(And I suspect the queues at Apple Stores will be brutal.)

I know you posted in jest (maybe) but IIRC Tiger allows you to specify that a given folder not be indexed by Spotlight.

    Sorry to disappoint.

Last time Panther was on CD but I expect if you look at iWorks it will be on DVD. It's about the same size as Panther if not less though, isn't it? 2.5GB I think I remember AppleInsider reporting. BUT they'll definitely sell a CD version as well. In fact haven't all Macs for years had at least a combo drive? I would rather DVD so that it's quicker to install.

Oh and about that Porn, you're brother wont have told it not to search for that folder so it'll be found in spotlight. I've been using the Mac OS X search in Panther quite a bit recently and it's actually really fast already, obviously nowhere near as fast or as full-featured as Spotlight because of the index capabilities but searching on the Mac has always beaten Windows. It takes longer to configure a search on Windows then it takes my computer to configure and search 100GB!
