I am a prospecting switcher and I'm pretty new to these boards (see post count). I would absolutely love to have a 15" PowerBook update this summer which would include adding the firewire 800, built in airport extreme, bluetooth, and backlit keyboard. Especially the backlit keyboard. I presume that the timeline is set for this and that the chances for a 15" PowerBook update are hovering around the 75% range. I really want to make the switch to Apple, but I'm just waiting for the right time (and the money).

And I personally like the look of the titanium casing much better then the new aluminum. But if the update includes an aluminum casing...then oh well. I'll just get what I can and be happy...after all, it is a Mac.

Any new rumors on this? I checked around and didn't find anything.

Although a speed bump would be nice even a change to Aluminum and the addition of a larger screen, Airport Extreme, FW800, bluetooth, larger on board memory, larger cache (unlikely), better graphics chip, back lit keyboard, faster CD drive and better Airport range would all be very welcome additions and make for a juicy upgrade.

If the screen increases to 15.4 will the resolution increase at all? Any information that the weight will go down? Longer battery life?

My guess is that the engineers are busy with the rollout of the 12 and 17 inch Powerbooks. Once they get those stabilized the 15 inch PB will go aluminum.

I think it may be a while until specifics of the update make their way to the rumor sites. But a larger resolution, Bluetooth, Airport extreme, longer baterery life, backlit keyboard, ect. will definatly be great. I hope that they make the 15" the flagship for their laptop line because as soon as this update comes out....I'm buying one. I don't care what's it it
