making a song an apple lopp to slow it down

I have a song in the form of an aiff that I wanna slow down. I thought I could select the clip and make it an apple loop from GBand doesn't want to. Any thoughts? I'm using the slowed down song as a guide for something, not remixing/Grey album stuff.

    use ableton live 4... you can use the demo version... reply to this thread if you wanna me to give more info

    or, get the Amazing Slowdowner? very funny: you can slowdown (or speed up) AND you can pitch the track without changing the speed, ever heard Michael Jackson with a male voice??
