Apple's entire CPU line now shipping with Tiger

Along with new iMac and eMac introductions on Tuesday, Apple also announced that its entire line of consumer-oriented CPU-based products is now shipping with Mac OS X 10.4 "Tiger." This includes iMacs, eMacs, Mac minis, iBooks, PowerBooks, and of course the Power Mac G5, which was announced last week. Additionally, the company also dropped the price of its built-to-order RAM upgrades. An upgrade to 512MB of RAM now costs $50, while a boost to 1GB runs $225. This represents a reduction of $25 and $100, respectively.

    Refurbs always come with the OS they originally shipped with, that is, you get the exact same CD/DVD set that you would have gotten if you brought the Mac new.

    I'm not seeing the RAM thing to be true. Apple still wants $75 for a 256 MB ram upgrade on the iBook.

    Does the Mac mini come with Tiger? According to the Apple website, it's still shipping with 10.3?

    I won't buy a mac Mini unless they improve the specs to comply with Tiger.



    Even if they stick with 256Mb RAM which is a mistake in my opnion, $50 for the upgrade to 512Mb isn't bad, however, are we forced to buy from Apple to get the 512Mb RAM or can we still buy it tax-free from the catalogues with 512Mb installed?
