What are you going to do with your new iMac?

Me:

1) FCP3, baby! By plunking only $1800 down and getting a SuperDrive, that gives me plenty of dough for things like FCP3 and DV cam and so forth. Hell, want to see a copy of my latest masterpiece: here ya go!

2) The usual. Web, email, word processing, stuff.

3) Digital phtography. Once again, by not plunking $3K down, I can get me a nice little Camedia ES 100 Rapid Shot or 2100 UZ Ultra Zoom.

4) Rip Mix Burn. 'nuff said.

5) Games. The selection is not great, but with a GeForce 2MX (which my Duron has, and I love it), I can play any game I want to play, no sweat.

6) DVD player (attached to TV). you betcha.

Happy happy joy joy.

If I ever get one I'll do the same things that I currently do on my iBook.

    1. Use it as the hub for my new digital audio workstation

    2. Regain a significant portion of my desktop back by throwing out a CDRW drive, USB Hub, and thier damn spaghetti cables.

    3. Post to AppleInsider (duh!)

I'm looking forward to the CD-RW and the DVD-RW. The funny thing is I just finished a huge iMovie of my cousin's wedding that would have gone a lot faster on this new iMac.

Once I purchase the new iMac, I will begin transferring the VHS Music videos from my youth (New Edition, Janet Jackson, Mary J. Blige, etc.) to DVD. This will be good practice before I start using the iMac to pay for itself by doing the same work professionally.

I'll also continue using it for photography, music, and general usage.
