G4 overclocking?

Any info on just how much one can overclock a G4 without loosing stability or risking a fried CPU?? I just read on slashdot that some Finnish geeks overclocked the pentium4 to 3500+ mhz (which is about the speed the CPU will hit this year) and got interested. Although I'm looking to get a powermac sooner or later I'll have a budget of $2500 or less and I want raw power for 3d rendering - thus thinking of either overclocking a bit or going dual AMD...

People have are already been overclocking G4's past 1 GHz.

If you're a beginner at OC'ing, DON'T START WITH THE G4. It's way too expensive to replace if you screw up. Build a cheap PC box and OC some Celerons first.

I would probably only overclock it after a year and a half (or so), I was just interested in the potential - the 1ghz was probably a 867 machine..
