Apple saving first iMac ad for Superbowl?

What an arena to show their brand new baby to the world! Has anybody heard if they've bought time during the Superbowl?

It'll coincide with iMacs shipping (probably), and Superbowl ads are often more anticipated than the actual game. I think Apple should buy some time.

So far it doesn't look like they got any space during the Super Bowl. That would be the perfect time, though.

I would hope they run a 'Bowl add.

I have a better idea, why not show it to the entire world in the World Cup final in July?

I think you might be joking, but, just in case: the Super Bowl is next Sunday. That's 5 months sooner than July.

So far Apple has not signed on for a national Superbowl ad. Doesn't mean they won't buy some local/regional ads. But it's doubtful. Also, there just isn't enought product in the pipeline to advertise as of yet. Getting much too late for the 'bowl. Go here for complete list of advertisers:

Does a company have to annouce that they are going to have an ad in the Superbowl? Apple could have it under secret wraps and knowone will know it is going to air until they actually see it. How cool would that be to see the new iMac dancing on National TV during the Superbowl undr complete shock and excitement. <img src="graemlins/smokin.gif" border="0" alt="[Chilling]" />

All advertisers are pre-announced. No secret sponsors are going to advertise. Apple will not be advertising on the Superbowl. They didn't last year either. The World Cup would be great for outside the U.S., but since it does not have blockbuster ratings domestically I seriously doubt Apple would bother.
