Are there any US citizens here who have experience with living and working in Paris France?

Brother's there. Just got back from visiting him. Any questions in particular?

Get a bike. Rent (really easy) or buy one. It's the best way to get around Paris.

    Yeah,
    • How hard is it for non-EU citizens to find a job?

    • Do the French issue work permits?

    1. You can find a job depending on your qualifications.

    2. Finding papers is a whole lot tougher. Immigration is being cracked down upon all over Yurrup. Even HUGE hi-tech multinational corps have Americans working as illegal aliens because of these difficulties.

It's just as difficult as getting a green card, basically. Usually they'll require you to have a contract in hand to start processing your papers, which might take a year or more. But many employers require you to have papers before they write up a contract. So there you have it.

See if you can hunt down a member named "ZO." He is an American who has lived and worked in Europe for quite some time. He used to live in Belgium, now he's in Paris.

Things you should probably avoid saying:

"If it weren't for da Yanks, you'd be speaking German, Mr. Petain"

    "Disney Rulez"

    "Got any Ketchup?"

I lived in Paris for three years, and trust me, ketchup is very popular there too.
