my powerbook isn't starting properly

I've just purchased a bran new powerbook and I'm already having issues with it. (I'm dissapointed but I'm not going to hate Apple for it or anything.) The powerbook starts up fine, however; the monitor doesn't turn on. I can hear the computer running and the lights are turned on on the keyboard. Has this happened to anyone before? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Nevermind, I called Apple and they said the RAM is not being read by the computer. I'll have replace the entire computer.
