Add to that the $2000.00 for that over priced studio display! Why don't you just kill yourself?? There should be some kind of law that would prevent you from getting ripped off like that! You need to be protected from yourself! Do you realize that in most states what you did is grounds for a divorce! <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laughing]" /> <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laughing]" /> <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laughing]" /> <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laughing]" /> </strong><hr></blockquote>

Actually once you factor in the Sound Sticks, Firewire cable the total was $6100 with tax, I guess you can't do math on your PC. As far as 'killing myself', why don't I make everyone here a tad more pleased by 'killing you'. The reason I spend this much, is because, quite frankly, PCs suck, Windows' sucks and I am not a techie so Linux isn't an option.

So feel good about your cheap machine, buggy OS, slow car and small dick.

    &lt;side note- this is also a tax deduction&gt;

Actually I'm interested in LimeWire preformance, it's almost unusable on my imac. It's not that important, but if you want to try it you can download it here.<a href="http://download.cnet.com/downloads/0-10214-100-8627902.html?tag=st.dl.10005-103-1.lst-7-6.8627902"; target="_blank">download page</a> thanks kidRed

Ok, I'm downloading a few songs now, can't really say I see anything wrong. It's hard to say because everything is so fast, there's hardly a lag anywhere. So all I can say is that there is no lag with LimeWire

Thanks, thats good news. How was the launch time for limewire? Sometimes it takes over 30 seconds on my old imac(I'm assuming your times were significantly faster).

How's the dvd playback( of course with 2 G4's, a geforce 4, and a cinema display it should be flawless)?

Thanks for all the info KidRed, and have fun with all your new toys.

Yea whatever! You paid $3,000.00 for a pc who's OS has 2.9% of the market! We won't even go into the display! Steve Jobs puts anything out there and you pay the price no matter what! You think you would have waited for the G5s to come out! In a month or two your not even going to have the top of the line Apple CPU! After all the money you paid that's insane! Your nuts!

    KidRed,

I know you just went off on a spiel about Wondows sucking and all, and I agree, but do you happen to have VirtualPC V and can you talk about the preformance on that machine?

    BTW--congrats on the sweet machine!

Thanks I do, but not installed on this machine. VPC 5 is dog slow, but I would expect it to be faster on this machine. Maybe later i will install it.

rbaldiestester or whatever your troll clan refers to you as-

If market share numbers are so important to you, check out BMW's market share. Or why don't we compare downtime averages? Or repair costs? Or depreciation values? Piss off troll, obviously we could care less about your thoughts, why don't you email Dell and tell him he rocks or something useless, err. I mean useful.

    KidRed,

Could you give me an assessment on the loudness of this machine? I heard the previous models were like jet engines; and since there were many complaints about it, I'm hoping that Apple did something to alleviate the problem. Computer noise just drives me batty!!!

Thanks KidRed, now I can't sleep tonight because my dual-1GHz is sitting in a FedEx warehouse waiting to be delivered tomorrow! I had almost pushed it out of my mind until tomorrow, but NOOOOOOO, I had to come in here and read what I have to wait until tomorrow for! Seriously, thanks for the preview!

PS- No one reply to anything rbald says. He's baiting you.

    JBytes -

Someone asked me a page or two earlier, and I hadn't even noticed the sound when they asked. I don't think it's that much louder then my G4 450. It's there but it's no where near the visualization (oralization?) that an airplane engine may create. I wouldn't worry about it, I'm not and don't.

Jay- Have fun I can't wait to try out the DVD burner, they give you 2 DVD disks and 1CD-R disk to play on.

    Hi KidRed

thanks for taking time out to run these tests. To do an FPS test, at the main screen hit the ~ key. That should bring up the console. Then type:

    timedemo"1"

    demo demo001

where "demo001" is the name of the demo (it may be different on the demo version of Quake. If that doesn't work, try "four.dm66" I THINK... ah shit, someone help me out here!)

Then hit return and it should run thru the demo at lightning speed (well, it will on your Ghz G4!).

    Cheers,

    -Ed
