Ouch, sorry to hear that...

Happens to the best of us though. I broke my wrist/arm on my first run ever on a snowboard. We were killing time before a free lesson... kind of ruined the day, to say the least. Caught an edge, put my arms out like an idiot to break the fall... it worked, but of course the wrist broke as well.

She'll be back at it. It's addictive.

OK, maybe I'm wrong but hopefully someone here will tell me.

I thought I had read that you could use the PC133 memory in the old B & W machines without a problem, the ram just "slowed down". I would think that ram would work fine with the PC100 ram currently in the machine right? Or can't they be combined no matter what?

    Thanks in advance.

did you order your ram yet?? g

youngest broke arm snowboarding this weekend...i am a bad father....she is doing fine, but may not make her cheerleading competion....which is sad since she doesn't really like cheering at games too much, but love working on routines and stunts for competions....g

she did get a pretty purple cast....

    Hi Gelding!

Thanks for the tip. I'm going to update my saved link to skip the main page. I couldnt get on for days and days. (i'll blame MacNN--it's their fault! hehe.)

Still didnt order my RAM yet, maybe in another week or so. I wanted to wait a little bit so I could still be inside the 30-day return period in case something happens (like the darn thing takes 6 months to come, and i finally get fed up and order a desktop power mac instead). they said shipping in 3-5 weeks when i ordered it, so it may not even leave Taiwan until 11:59 pm on February 28th.

Sorry to hear about your daughter's arm. But at least the purple cast looks cool. It doesnt make you a bad father. What's worse is sheltering your kids so much that they become so wimpy and afraid to do anything and take risks. Besides, the "remember the time when I broke my arm snowboarding" often makes a good story when the kids are older. She's still young, but make sure she gets just a little but of physical therapy at he very least. It helps the pain go away and stay away faster, and there's less of a chance that it'll hurt on every rainy day for the rest of her life. Anyway, she looks like a trooper...Not wimpy like me, since i cant even budge an iMac--LOL!

OOOOH THEY SHIPPED MY iMAC TODAY, JUST NOW, LIKE 5 MINUTES AGO!!!!!!

I just posted here, then amused myself by going back to the Apple website again (I was just there an hour ago and still nothing), but then it said "Shipped!!!!!" YAY!!!!!!!!!!

I swear, I really jumped up and down screaming for 5 minutes. My husband thought I won the lottery or something. But this is much cooler!

Time to go order the ram. later!

My Crucial Story: it'll have a happy ending...

I originally got my Pismo with 64MB RAM, so I ordered a 128 stick from Crucial. It came lickety-split, and when I installed it, turns out they sent me a 64 instead of a 128. That's the bad news. Good news: I called them and immediately sent it back. When they got it a couple days later, they checked it, realized their mistake, and shipped the 128 very graciously.

It's a good place to get memory. Just make sure they send you the right size!

EDIT (5 minutes later): Upon further thought, maybe I didn't get the memory from Crucial. I think I found another place that was a bit cheaper, but realized I should have bought the RAM from Crucial to begin with...

glad you're so excited, but cooler than winning the lottery?? have fun with your new iMac and hopefully it won't get stuck in Alaska...you will have fun.....

yep, she's tough (at 5 foot and 80 pounds she is a BASE in cheerleading, but then they grow the girls small out here in New Mexico...at her size she would be a flyer for sure back east...she is just a little thing....the elder sister has 7 inches on her)...but don't sell yourself short, the iMac is bigger and heavier feeling than i thought it would be....just makes it seem more solid and stable...and that metal arm/handle is really much thicker than i thought....cool machine thru and thru.... g
