hey, which pixels are the stick ones and which are dead? i have one that looks bluish white but only noticeable on a black background. the other is reddish, and only noticeable on a white background.

now here's the crazy thing-- i have a HUGE LINE running vertically down the center of my powerbook G3 wallstreet, from top to bottom. it's like an entire row of pixels got messed up, but im not sure what it is. also, this line appeared suddenly one day in the 2nd year, 11th month after my purchase date. i regret not having bought a warranty. i made sure to buy one (for under $150, federal employee discount rate) for my new iMac G4.

why does everyone seem to think the PC users that buy iMacs have never encountered dead/stuck pixels before?

Because most consumers buying the new iMac will probably be experiencing an LCD monitor for the very first time. CRT's don't have dead/stuck pixels, and people will wonder "What the heck is going on with their new computer?"!

You're right, I must have wasted an awful lot of money. I'm so silly, aren't I, rbald?

In fact I added it up... must be about $9999.99 worth of equipment... which gives me enough change from $10k for a night with your Mama.

And if Apple charged twice what they're asking for a Dual-Ghz Mac, it'd still be better value than your Mama.

The joke is on you, m8

Yeah, you'll send it in , they will evaluate then send it back to you with a charge for evaluating it and it being within acceptable specs.
