iPod Patent Expanded

Apple has expanded the trademark for the iPod.



They added the word video.



It now reads ?portable and handheld digital electronic devices for recording, organizing, transmitting, manipulating, and reviewing text, data, audio, image, and video files.?



No big surprise really, it just becomes more official.

    So you think new ipods in time for Christmas? Around late November or December? Also, I'm assuming this new capability would not be compatable with older iPods? I'm considering getting the 60Gb iPod (Photo). Would be a shame if this couldn't play videos when the new ones can.

    No, I don't see that capability on older iPods (even photos) I'm thinking the new iPods will have a redesign both outside and in. I'm not sure these current color screen iPods have the hardware capable of playing video. Maybe we'll be pleasantly surprised.
