nice iPhoto trick
just in case nobody knows this trick or feature, anyway.
First, drag the iPhoto icon into the finder window at top (tool bar section).
Now you can drag any folder, which contains pictures
onto that finder tool icon. iPhoto will import the content of that
folder immediately.
I find this more convenient than dragging a folder (with pictures in it)
onto the docked iPhoto icon.

The concept is exactly the same as having iPhoto in the dock. The only difference is it's in the Finder window's toolbar.

Yes i know. But in my case i find it easier to drag a particular
folder on top of a finder window, than to drag a folder a whole hell of a
distance onto the docked iPhoto.
I think it is more intuitive. Even the sidebar is more practicable
to do this task.

I suppose.
There are 244 images & 7 songs. I noticed that when you start a slideshow in
the middle the music will still start at the beginning of track 1. Is there a way
to get the music to sync so it will play like the final dvd (example: if I press play
at the 100th picture the music should play the 3rd track at 45 seconds into it.)?

I know what you are talking about. I still can't decide, if this is
feature or a bug.
Saves opening the app, hitting Cmd-O, navigating to the file, only to find that it won't open it.

It's a feature, while working in iphoto you are just creating slide show, which plays music background, if you want to attach pictures and music it's video or atleast considered as video project, so if you want to do that you should either create your "video" in iMovie, or drag your iphoto slide show to iDvd which renders it as video.
Well, makes a lot of sense, i suppose. No pun intended.

It's actually a great way to find out if an app will open the file. If you drag it over the app's icon, and the icon darkens, it'll accept it. If it doesn't, it won't.

Yes, actually that's truely gorgeous.
Btw, one of my not so secret wishes for future dock enhancement is
a redesigned intelligent multi purpose finder icon.
See, drag a document onto that intelligent multi purpose finder icon.
as a result a drawer slips out offering you the apropriate app (by and large)
to open that doc. Strictly contextual.
That would sat'sfy m'.

I've got a problem with the slideshow that I made. When I exported it to iDvd
the audio gets out of sync with the video. By the end of the first song the video
is about 1 to 2 seconds ahead. When it gets to the end of the video it's 22
seconds ahead of the audio. I also tried exporting the slideshow as a movie &
then dragging it into iDvd but it had the same problem. I noticed that the
movie I created was 29 min 27 seconds long. The slideshow though is 29 min
59 sec. I went to the Apple store but the genius wasn't able to fix it.
I even considered remaking the whole thing over in iMovie instead but I
noticed some weird timeline problems. I imported three photos in a new
project & set a 6 second ken burns effect on each. When I scrub the timeline
to the end of the first picture, the timeline says 5:29 & then the next frame
says 6:00. When I scrub to the end of the second photo, the timeline says
11:29 & the next frame says 12:00. I put a 2 second ripple transition
between the first two pics & the timeline changed again. The end of the
second picture now says 10:00 in the timeline.
Do all of the iLife products have timeline problems? Also, does Apple
have a tech support email address? I checked Apple.com but I can't seem
to find it.

The last number isn't (second/100) but frames. the PAL standard has 25 frames per second(fps) and NTSC has 29.97 fps. So after frame :29 the second is full and logically the next frame is :00. I'm not sure what you mean with pictures getting out of sync with music? How are they supposed be synced with music? With video I understand out of sync problem but how are pictures supposed to be in sync with music, if you don't manually sync them?

Has any heard about a fix for this yet? I've got two other wedding DVD jobs that I have lined up & I really need a fix for this before I start.

Yes, as far as my knowledge goes.
