Problem with Brand New iMac G5

I've just got a brand new 20" iMac G5 and it won't start up:

I turn it on and it gets to the apple screen. After about 5 seconds - with the little thing going round, the screen goes darker and the message in like 5 languages comes up saying "You must restart your computer, hold down the power button..." (or similar). Its done this about 20 times. I've powered it off at the socket too...

I tried booting from the DVD and that worked fine, it installed but then went to restart and its back at the same screen...

I've tried zapping the PRAM a few times too...

Help!

Many many thanks

Ed

Sounds like its time for a call to Apple. If your iMac is brand new, it will still be under warranty and they should replace it without any trouble.

Also, after a while the fan starts up and is _very_ loud...

Anyway, chatted with someone from Apple support and they agree, send it back...

    Sad, but there we go
