quick question: Delete a song in iTunes, but it doesn't go to trash?

in iPod + iTunes + AppleTV edited January 2014
On my girlfriend's PowerBook, the exact same one, iTunes 5.0.1 and 10.4.2 if she deletes a song it moves it to the trash. If I do, it doesn't. Is this a Pref? I couldn't find it. Anyone? Thanks!

    Have you tried Command-Delete?

    If you delete a song from a playlist, it remains in your Library. If you delete a song from the LIbrary, it goes to the trash - usually after warning you. Maybe that's the difference?

    ...and to add... if you option-delete from a playlist it will also delete from your library.
