Hey guys I'm new to mac. I'm about to sell my 12" and get a 17", but I wanted to know what's the best way to back all my software up, so that I can transfer it to my new mac?

Carbon Copy Cloner to an external drive and then back. If you have both at the same time, then boot the old into target disk mode and CCC directly. Note: CCC works with latest panther and latest 10.4 (10.4.2) but not 10.4.0 and .1

    Hi, just a general tip,

VersionTracker and MacUpdate are good places to search for software. I also check VersionTracker everyday and keep my eye out for updates to software I've already got, and for anything that's new and interesting/helpful.
