    well i tried doing wut u suggested. unfortunately, for wtv reason, at about 11% through the exporting process, i get a microsoft error report forcing quicktime to shut down (the tyoe of error that asks if u want to send an error report or not). i dont know how to fix this problem. my next question is, can i still use xilisoft successfuly? will it work ne way? and if possible, a solution to my quicktime problem

    no worries. try restarting the quicktime export, and just minimize the quicktime movie window and the 'progress' window. do not try to close these windows until the 'progress' window goes away by itself when it is done encoding....



    maybe that will help... i get ocassional crashes but on winxp64 quicktime7.0.3 i was able to complete a few encodes from quicktime to ipodmovie without crashes.



    all the mac users are probably laughing their asses of at this windoze discussion about crashing and stuff but don't let that deter you

    nah, it's cool mate. we all make a great team! if not for you i wouldn't have known about beta2 of divx fusion and if not for smarty i wouldn't have known about xilisoft.

    despite all of my efforts, it seems that quicktime 7.0.3 pro still gives me an error. i'll just have to cross my fingers that xilisoft will do the job ne way. thx for every1's help regardless.

    yeah i'm sure when people start getting their ipod videos we'll have lots more information on how it handles different codecs, if there are any fiddly, annoying things to look out for and what not . for what its worth i wouldn't go and convert all my divx until i received my ipod video
