Mythbusters - kickass tv

I don´t have a tv and haven´t had for six, seven years.I have relied on online content for news and magazines like frontline and stuff like that.

But now a small company have managed to get the rights in place to send the danish channels and stuff like Discovery and BBC at 2 mbit/s MPEG-4. And for tech reasons I had to try it out.

So TV is still mostly crap. But Mythbusters on Discovery, Holy moses is that great tv or not? Laid back tv with explosions. So opposite reality tv (which is uptight tv without any bang).

All those I watch online (well the part of nova available online). Comedy Central or PBS are not available here so I would not be able to see any of them on my TV anyway.

Curb Your Enthusiasm. It's like Seinfeld as seen through God's asshole.

Mythbusters is truly great tv, except that in my mind they could be bit more scientifiic, I mean that they could first prove it on paper, then make the test and then give viewer reasons why it worked the way it did, most of the time the reasons are basic highschool physics so anyone should be capable to follow the reasonings. But idiotic exploding everything for no reason whatsoever is allways good entertainment

Mythbusters is OK. Sometimes I'm not convinced that the methods they use are really testing the myth.

    My favorite TV shows:

    Desperate Housewives

    Lost

    Night Stalker

    The Suite Life

Still the best show ever is definitely The Job, Dennis Learys wry irony just works for me, and there are no stupid prelaughed shit, I know when I find something amusing.

Yeah, I don't think Jamie and Adam always use completely scientific methods, but I DO like that they keep going even when the myth is busted:

"Obviously the myth is busted, but how many explosives *would* we need to fire this rocket that far?"

The Poop Report actually has an interesting, *ahem* inside view on Mythbusters--or rather, how a lot of science is thrown out for the sake of marketability and being 'family friendly'.

Mythbusters is pretty good. People complain that their scientific method isn;t sound but if you watch some of the special shows, they talk about how much of it is cut-out even though they did it.

On the other note, Law & Order is a great way to pass the time. And it uses a lot of thinking to keep up sometimes so it isn;t brain-rotting.
