I have a problem of booting my Mac. I coped the whole hard drive data using Carbon Clone Copy to firewire hard drive, but lose booting, i mean the os X doesn't boot now.

Would you tell me how do I repair it and get it back boot without re-install/upgrade that OS.

many thanks.

First I would hold down the delete key. This is supposed to force the computer to look for a valid system folder but I never got it to work. Second, hold down option and select the primary hard drive.

Other than that, there may have been something wrong with your CCC settings and the copy doesn't know it is bootable.

The volume does not appear as a option, although 'system' folder is in there. Don't know how to make it boot-able again.
