Software for Global Project Collaboration

I want to develop software to allow consultants from all over the world to work together on design projects. Please advise if anyone knows if there is any available base software which could be used to construct such a 'global office' Windows has grove virtual office is there a mac equivalent.

The essential functions I need are:

Project contacts

Central project files repositry

Job accounting

Job project managment

standard documents

ability to construct teams from databse of consultants

staff data cv etc

live chat and conferencing between teams

communications managment

automated payments to consultants

etc etc

Is it a case of just starting from scratch?

If so does anyone have any experience of developing such a complex programme.

I intend to write a comprehensive development brief but would appreciate initial thoughts and ideas.

Thanks

Jon
