    Now the real question is:

Will Apple lower the price back to normal?

Doubt it....at least for now til May

oh god. this sucks. now we have to worry about quality differences between manufacturers and not knowing which one you'll wind up with

I can see it now. People complaining about bright and dim iMacs. Or slow and fast displays. They're probably built to a common spec for quality control reasons and shouldn't differ too much, but this will inevitable spawn a whole good display/bad display urban myth, especially on eBay where insane re-sellers will look for any excuse to sell a 2 year old mac for the price of a new one.

    bad, bad, bad.

Inevitably there will be quality differences between manufacturers... *sigh*

There's always something, isn't there? geez...

But there WILL be (some) quality differences. LCD displays aren't made by one formula in which the entire industry goes by to produce the same product. If that were the case, SamSung's displays wouldn't be superior to ViewSonic's displays (etc, etc).

I wonder if one supplier will supply glass exclusively for 15" ASD and the other exclusively for iMac?
