Seagate buys Maxtor for 1.9 Billion in Stock. I'm sorta leery about this. Maxtor is cheaper generally. Seagate will benefit from the NAS One Touch line.

One crappy hard drive manufacturer buys another.

Is that 1.9 billion before or after the mail-in-rebate?

Seagate and Maxtor were making hard-drives when Samsung was still playing in the sandbox.

Let's not forget who introduced FDB to desktops drives, who was first to 100, 133, and 160 GB/platter in data density, and who is the only drive manufacturer to offer 5 year warranty on ALL of their products!
