FIVE MONTHS WAIT for Apples

Here in sunny New Zealand, hardly the far flung colony it used to be, Apple buyers are having to wait up to five months for their orders of new Apple gear. Delivery dates are like vapor-ware..... seductive but continuously disapointing.

I would like to know if there are similar delays elsewhere. Seeing as you cannot inport as an individual, it makes purchasing for business use absolutely excruciating. In may cases you loose money from the day you order.

Is this a problem for others?

How would you suggest we antipodeans can change this very bad supply line.

Apparently stock comes from the USA, then to Australia, then to NZ, but the NZ agent only orders confirmed purchaces, so there is NO stock.

Have someone in Australia order one for you and ship it over at your expense. There are plenty of Powermacs around over here. We're ordering 3 at the moment and they'll be on overnight delivery.

can you reccommend some reliable Sydney suppliers?

the suggestion you have made is exacly what alot of us have to do, however it doesn't help the local resellers who are all subject to the lisenced agent. and it doesn't help for getting local support,

    cheers
