Question about iPod video encoding

As you know, the iPod video can accept both MPEG 4 video as well as h.264 video. While I know that h.264 compresses to a smaller size better, I have heard that it is currently heavy on the CPU during decoding.

Now I am curious that if I encode my videos in MPEG 4 instead of h.264, will I use less of my ipod battery during playback. Or does it not really matter?

You'd probably find spinning up the HD is the largest part of the battery drain so smaller would be better.
