Out of alignment hinges in TiBook (DVI)

I just got my 667 TiBook (DVI), and it has the display hinges out of alignment, can this be fixed?, And it also has two pixel towards the center of the screen that are constantly white, it really bothers while watching DVDs. I'm cirrently in Central America, so I have any chance of having this repaired or am I stuck with an expensive paperweight?

    I'm not sure about the hinges, but have u tried massaging the dead pixels?

    Many people claim to have fixed dead pixels by using gentile rubbing
