#6 BLUETOOH MIGHTY MOUSE

Fingers crossed!

#7 MAC MEDIA HUB

Unknown, I think it will have a new form factor, will make one if I can figure it out.

#8 MAC PRO

I don't know enough about Intel processors and ship times to estimate, will add if I figure it out.

LOGIC

If apple really wants to kick in the marketshare and provide the full user experience they NEED at least one monitor at a smaller size and better prices for them if they''re gonna get away with skimping on features. The iMacBooks I personally can't see happening any other way. The new mac mini I personally see as perfect, if they want to ship 10 million units, they're gonna need this in their pocket. The new iMacs I think will go HD eventually to stay competitive versus the mac mini elite+new cinema displays. The MacBook Pro upgrade I see as logical to stay seemingly cutting edge.

The bluetooth mighty mouse? They'd better evenutally, that's all I can say.

I don't think we'll see multipul iMacBook and MacBook Pro sizes in 2006 because getting everything else out is more important. In 2007 sure, just not now.

I don't know what they want in the hub because imo frontrow right now is not comparable to WINXP MCE, and I don't know how big or powerful a GOOD DEDICATED living room box would need to be.

Mac Pro? I don't know enough about intel chips yet, to know if there is even something comparable to Dual Core G5 and especially Quad Core G5 shipping in 2006 that would be good enough for industry pros.

There you have it my dream/expectations for the majority of the intel roadmap for 2006.

Please comment on mine and take a crack at your own!

    That's pretty good.

Like to see your mockup on the media center. Figure it being wider and incorporating a Blu-Ray drive (maybe optional). Big 3.5" 7200RPM HD, too, none of this laptop-drive crap.

MacPro would be a 'conroe' CPU, dual-core at around 2GHz. Smaller tower than the PMG5. Maybe a white plastic case.

XServes would use a 'woodcrest' CPU, not available until 2007.

Of course MY dream would be Apple going to all AMD CPUs for the desktop models... Intel's desktop chips are crud.

MacPro won't exist until there's a viable, 64bit multicore processor from Intel. I think Apple will actually continue to offer PPC PowerMacs for quite some time.

Conroe may be available as soon as july, 64-bit, dual-core up to 2.67/2.93GHz, 1066MHz FSB, 2/4MB cache

An Extreme version of Conroe is also planned: 3.33GHz, 1333MHz FSB.

***Conroe can power, entry-level PowerMacs and maybe iMacs or mid-range headless Macs (if Apple wants to make some)

Woodcrest is still planned for Q3'06 (july-aug), 64-bit, dual-core, can work in pairs (quad), up to 2.93GHz, 1066/1333MHz FSB, 4MB cache

***Woodcrest can power XServes and high-end PowerMacs (quad)

Merom is planned for Q4 now (maybe october) 64-bit, dual-core up to 2.33/2.67GHz, 4MB cache

***Merom is for notebooks (and maybe iMacs)

There is also Sossaman (server version of Core Duo, up to 2GHz) that can work in pairs (quad-core) and could power a low-cost Mac Server (if Apple wants to make one). I think that this chip is already available (products have been announced).

*** As I'm writing this, I'm thinking that Apple could also make a mini-quad with 2 of those chips, Intel's E7520 chipset allows for 16GB of DDR2 RAM, Gigabit Ethernet, PCI Express slots...

    ***30th anniversary Mac?
