Now that I've installed Flip4Mac on my iBook, is there any point in keeping WMP on my computer? If I uninstall it, will Flip4Mac stop working?

WMP and Flip4Mac are independent solutions for the same problem (crappy WMA/V content)... removing one won't impact the other.
I've found the odd rare files that seem to require a codec
only
present in WMP. YMMV

But, am I covered for WMVs and AVIs if WMP is uninstalled?

You should be, but there are no guarantees.
How hard is it to just leave WMP on the drive ? If you need to reclaim a mere 8.7MB of disk space, then WMP/Flip is the LEAST of your problems

What's the point in getting rid of it? It is only around 8 megs.
Just make a folder called "Old Apps" and stick it in there.
