I'm betting it's the new Disnappixar huggable robo-buddy that spouts 10 unforgettable, collectible phrases, such as, "Eisner, I OWN your ass!" and "Who broke my RDF?". Coming soon!

    ...or something.

referring to the large iCal icon on the invitation:

you use iCal to stay organized. what else do you you use to stay organized, but now on the go?

    an apple PDA.

It's a large iCal icon on the invite meaning "save the date" or "mark your calendars", nothing else... The takeaway from this bit of info is the word "fun"...

"fun" To me implies an updated product, not a whole new product. I would think if this was a brand new product Apple would be hyping it a lot more. But maybe that is just me?

iMac and iPod were both announced at small, short-notice press conferences, not macworld or wwdc.

I wonder if this event coencides with the 1billion. My guess is it does.

I feel that apple will do something big for their birthday. That's just the impression i got from Jobs' keynote at macworld. So i think more like a mac mini DVR/movie store/video airport express announcements. They can always throw in the iPod boom box, i mean i know its special but c'mon no more than 20 minutes for it. I still think mac mini DVR would be best fit for their b-day.
