Hey

Does anyone use a virus scanner for their Mac yet? Is there any point yet?

If you do, what virus scanner do you use?

I use Norton Antivirus 10 for the same reason I always used antivirus software on MacOS X. That is, to keep my computer clean of Windows macroviruses that I may receive from my colleagues. As for all the recent falderal about vulnerabilities in MacOS X, there is nothing there on which to base a purchasing decision.

I use clamav occasionally, only because I'm a good Samaritan. Neither it nor Virex (you remember it... that app that came with .Mac for a while that didn't get updated to keep up with Mac OS.) ever found anything.

    Hi

I use ClamXav and do occassionally get some windows viruses coming via my email and also some Java (windows viruses) from some websites cache files.

But other than those have never seen anything else.

Also Virex is at version 7.7 and is fully compatible with Tiger but I wouldn't recommend using it as it still hogs 80-95% processor time and also causes major problems with Stuffit/Deluxe by corrupting the stuffit engine and Magic Menu.

I use VirusBarrier X4 from Intego. Very nice and very smooth.
