Burning DVDs with iBook
Is it possible to burn DVDs with a 3rd party app and a Firewire DVD burner? Apple's iDVD 2 app won't run on anything without a G4 (<a href="http://www.apple.com/idvd/faq.html" target="_blank">Apple's iDVD FAQ</a>). I assume this is for performance reasons, but surely a 700 G3 can handle this?
Its too bad iDVD won't run on an iBook.
Oops. I meant "Is it possible to burn DVDs with a 3rd party app and a Firewire DVD burner ON A NEW iBOOK?"

iDVD 2 won't run on a G3 because its MPEG-2 encoding depends on the AltiVec unit, which the G3 lacks. Without this, it would take forever to encode your videos to MPEG-2. (Just regurgitating Jobs' pre-iDVD speech.)
