Wow I think this one has a bit more features than the IPOD. I like it. In fact my IPOD fell on the concrete a week ago and I wanted to get another 10GB one, but I might wait and get this one.

Does USB 2 have the same connectors as firewire? Or is it the same as USB 1? If it is different, do you have to have something special to run USB 2 on a mac? I heard that you can use USB 1 on it but it makes it slow as heck.

I don't find it quite as stylish as the iPod, it's only real assets is the added features, removable harddrive etc and I personally would never use them. Besides it's notably larger... Conclusion is, if I were to buy an mp3 player/external harddrive anytime soon it wouldn't be branded Toshiba.

Why would it have the same connector as fiewwire? That would not make any sense. It has the same connector as USB and is backwards compatible with the older version. I am not sure if it is foward compatible though.

....don't know that it makes sense..just asking a question. Makes about as much sense as "fiewwire".

LOL! The connector is the same as the regular USB 1.0 ones, if I remember correctly.

USB 1.1&lt;-&gt;USB 2 = backward and forward compatible. You can plug a older USB 1.1 device into a USB 2 port and it will connect at USB 1.1 speeds. Conversely, you can plug a USB 2 device into a USB 1.1 port and it will also communicate at USB 1.1 speeds.

Yep same connectors.. Ok, if this DOES ending up being big, I could see Apple definitely updating the iPod at Macworld... (Then I would be in line to buy one lol)

I guess I was in such a hurry to point out your poor logic that my typing got a little sloppy.

Wasn't there some mofo on these forums that had some story about how Toshiba took his iPod and were amazed at the capabilities of the thing or something...

I know it's not true, but it's kind of funny to have this product come out so recently.

Isn't Apple Legal gonna have something to say about this? After all they sued damn near everyone for the iMac stuff. Just a thought.

Look-alike is really a relative term. If the iPod is, say, George Clooney, then the Toshiba is more like George Bush (either one)...despite some things in common, consider the differences.

Besides, the iPod will get more pizzazz this summer, can't you feel it coming? <img src="graemlins/bugeye.gif" border="0" alt="[Skeptical]" />
