x11 1.0 (the version that came with panther) is available on Apple's site, but I can't find v1.1 which comes with tiger... I think 1.0 should work ok though.
I tried installing it and it wouldn't let me because it said "You have never software already installed on your computer". i don't know what the problem is then.

I'm sure it said " You have newer software..." and not "You have never software..." Basically what it means is that the software you are trying to install is older than the version you already have installed.

It says on the site
Note 10.4 customers can install X11 by using the Tiger DVD installer disk.
I wonder why they insist on making you get it from the install CD rather than being able to download it.
