Copying files from my other computers

Hi. Im new to macs and I was transfering my music,pics, and videos to my mac from my PC computer. When trying to transfer my vidoes it says i do not have sufficient privalge to copy those files. What the hell?? how do i turn of piracy protection or whatever it is.



also. does anyone know any good p2p programs for mac that are stable and virus free? thanks

    If you are using a external hard drive, try single-clicking on the drive and get info (command - i) and under ownership and permissions check "ignore ownership".



    That may help.



    As for P2P. there are no Mac P2P programs that have viruses or spyware. Several of these should work fine. Limewire and Acquisition are popular.

    It's probably too late but there's a program that ships with all new macs that lets you copy all your personal information to your new mac in a couple of steps.

    Check Applications/Utilities, and I can't remember what it's called but you should be able to find it easily.

    Maybe you can tell it to copy your movies if you're still having problems.
