First time here!
Hi all-
Found this site by accident, but think it's GREAT! Same set-up as one of my car topics. Anyway, will be getting an eMAC by Monday-sight unseen except for the Apple site. All the other "stuff" came yesterday- printer, cable, ZIP, floppy, lucite stand, 3 year warranty, but NO eMAC!
Currently using a PowerMac 6500/250 with DSL. Works great, but wanted something faster and newer. My original MAC LC 520 is still going strong too. My niece has it although she recently bought a PC! She wanted something faster, not better!
I'm a little concerned about what I have been reading about the current consumer version of the eMAC and its flickering screen. I guess I'll know for sure on Monday or Tuesday when mine arrives.
I'll probably be making VERY good use of this new site. Everyone here seems very helpful and knowledgeable like my car groups! With this OS X, I'm sure I'll have a LOT of questions! I have been a MAC user for at least 10 years or so. Love the ease of use and problem solving the rare times there is a problem. Not sure I'm going to like this OS X, but feel reassured because it also comes with OS 9 which is probably where I'll be most of the time! I hate big changes.
I wouldn't own a PC if THEY paid me or gave me one! I find them VERY complicated to "fix" when there is a problem! For my friend's DELL, I spent more time dealing with DELL then Stephen does in their TV commercials! That was ONLY because I had NO clue! DELL was very helpful. Had to reinstall Windows 98 from step one. WHAT a project! Did this a few times on my MACS to clean things up with NO problem and NO help from anyone! It didn't take me DAYS! I STILL have NO clue what a PC can do that a MAC can't?

Hopefully when you niece sees your email she will see the light and her next computer will be a Mac.

Dunno, he must have slipped something in Amorph and Jonathan's beers.

I will certainly keep everyone informed. Now I guess I'll have to post my very FIRST eMAC message in this group for good luck! That should be July 1 or 2 depending on when it gets here. They told me it was coming from "overseas"??? Taiwan???
Thanks for the welcome. I KNOW I'll need help from the experts here!
