Why no Apple Stores in Taiwan yet?

I just returned from living in Taiwan for a month. One thing that really struck me was the total lack of any Apple stores. There are none. Zero. Zilch.

Kinda odd considering so many of Apple products are manufactured there.

And there are ALOT of apple stores in Japan just to the north.

Anyone else find this odd?

I personally find it odd that this is somehow Future Hardware related, but that's probably just me....
