Imagine what using a the Mac with a screen this good would be like. Wow:
that'll look great in my car. Replace my windshield and set up a REAL dashboard on that bugger and use a camera to navigate... viewing the real world is overrated...i need information overlays.
First, you would most likely become physically ill staring at a screen that large for any real length of time. I sometimes hook my PC up to my 56" 1080p HDTV and I need to sit 8-10 feet back from it to avoid getting queasy. I have a wireless keyboard/mouse setup so I can sit in my recliner, something I'm used to doing with my PowerBook.
Second, at that distance and a resolution of 1920x1080 (which provides the clearest picture), it can be difficult to read text on the screen.
Finally, can you imagine the bitching that would result from a single dead pixel on this 7 1/2 foot beast? After all, when you spend $15,000, you demand perfection.
As said above, I have a 56" HDTV. If it were any larger, I'd have to sit back more than 8-10 feet just to not get sick. The larger the screen, the further back you have to sit in it.
People that really need a 90"+ HDTV generally buy a high end projector and a nice screen to display it on.

Well I have no problem putting my face right up to any TV or Monitor and look at the pixels. In fact I hope in at least 20 or 30 years from now they make a monitor as big as a wall that is touch screen and reacts to tablet pens and brushes where one could interact with it like a vertical desktop and canvas that doubles as an all in one entertainment and computer system.
Go to any wall in your house and mark off 9 feet (3 yards) and say you dont think that it looks big.
I know the screen is 100", but add in 4" on each side for the casing and you get 9 feet.
When you go into a large warehouse sized electronics store like Best Buy, Sears, Wal Mart, or Circuit City, these televisions might not look 'too large'. But get one into a smaller, more confined space like a normal room and you quickly see how enormous they actually are.
Multiply the problem by putting these TVs into Convention Centers and it gets worse.
There will eventually be a limit on how large these TVs are. At some point, a TV is just too big. Not everyone needs a screen that rivals the size of a movie theatre and to the people that somehow feel that they do need something that big, enjoy sitting in the front row of the theatre every time you turn it on.
