Do Cube usb speakers only work with the cube

Ive just got a 867 quicksilver. My G4 400 pci before couldnt power trhe speakers so they were quite quiet.



I assumed that the quicksilver usb ports would have enough power to have them at full 'loud' volume? or is it just the cube ports that will power them?

    I have the cube speakers with a quicksilver as well. they only way i found for them to work is to run them through the usb ports on my apple cinema display. otherwise the sound is greatly reduced. there is a note at apple on the use of pro speakers and the differences between those for the cube and the more recent editions.
