It's primarily because of Xtreem itself, the company who gave us the proposed Xtreem mac which could run at 1.2GHz at a time when Apple was still at the 500 barrier.
Everyone hates Xtreem, just like everyone hates BitBoyz and all other vaporware companies.
Even AmbrosiaSW takes a jab at Xtreem, if you play EV Nova, you'll notice that one of the planets sells Xtreem Rocket boards (which I believe are simply renamed for Xtreem's jumpers they tried to sell for $60 to overclock your Yosemite). Forgot which planet, but I assure you that you can purchase them in the game.

A ninteresting idea, and a definite possibility. This would never be an Apple product though. This is jsut not the kind of thing that Apple would do. Apart from anything, that text info clipping just wasn't Apple's way of speaking.
I wouldn't be at all surprised if some other company came out with something like this. Maybe Belkin or something. We'll just have to wait and see if it ever appears in the future.
