Trading in Vision:m for Ipod 1st some questions

in iPod + iTunes + AppleTV edited January 2014
Hi,

This is my first post so please be gentle!

I have a Vision:m (Creative) but am not impressed by it as it has a major sound problem. I am thinking of buying an Ipod video 60gb as I love my Ipod nano.

There are some features that I like on my vision:m and wondered if the Ipod video has them?

1. Can you scroll through album art to choose the album

rather than album titles?

2. Do you have to click all the way back through the menu

system like the nano to choose a new album? (Vision has

a shortcut button)

3. What is the release date for the new Ipod video, is it

worth waiting??

Thanks any advice appreciated!!

    1. no.

    2. no.

    3. your guess is as good as mine.

Your nano will behave exactly as the ipod with video. The only difference is that there are menu items for videos and music videos, etc.

I love my ipod with video and can only see Apple improving it.

    Welcome.

    Hi TednDi,

    Thanks for your quick reply!

Am seriously considering buying an Ipod video.

Do you know of any major issues with it?

I am concerned due to the problems I have encountered with Creative.

I assume it scratches quite easily and will need a case?

Is the sound quality good with and without EQ?

    (mine isn't!)

Oh and can I automatically sync my nano and an Ipod video with different criteria? Does it recognise the two?

    Thanks again

    Weezie

Yes, you can set them up to sync differently. It will recognize each individually iPod and allow you to set the sync rules for it from the iTunes preferences.

    Enjoy!

    Hi "weezie"! Welcome!

The one piece of advice I'll give you about getting a video iPod is get this thing here called "The invisible Shield", from "shieldzone.com" here's the link! I cannot recommend this enough. I have my iPod Video since it was first released, I don't have a case, and I don't use the cover that came with it. It does not have one scratch, not one. It's a special thin film, that's very tough to say the least. When it's on, you cannot tell there's anything on the iPod. The iPod looks like an iPod with no case. Under the film my iPod is still new.

    Hi,

Thanks for both of your replies.

It is good to know I can sync 2 ipods differently, thanks.

I will also consider the invisible shield as my current Mp3 player is wrecked by scratches on the screen

    Thanks again

I read recently about an easy, free, and surprisingly obvious trick for covering the screen of just about any electronic device: Use clear packing tape. Any comments on this?

Just on the screen, instead of a $30 iSkin case. Yes, it only protects the screen from scratches, not the rest of the iPod, but what do you think?
