  A link to Project Inkwell, or maybe a brief description, would be helpful in answering that question.

  Well, the only possible infringement would be trademark, and I can't really see how the name of the group (not a product) could possibly step on the toes of a handwriting recognition engine.

  Yeah, I don't see any issue here. Besides, Rosetta (the original name for Inkwell) is obviously not a major part of Apple's strategy. It hasn't been the focus of a product in almost 10 years.
