help - my avi files suddenly stopped playing

i'm not sure what i did...but this is pretty frustrating



i'm on a macbook pro...all of a sudden i'm having trouble with my avi quicktime files...they just play a white screen and make that creepy fast forwading sound



i used to use vlc player...but i can't get it to work on my macbook pro



any thoughts?

    I had some problems after installing Divx codecs. If you have them, you may want to temporarily remove them.

    i'm having problems on an intel iMac too. we may have to wait for awhile...
