Think I'm losing pixels on my screen
Or I need to replace my battery. When I turn on my G3 Ibook, The screen is going dark. I can still see stuff on the screen, but it's dark. I've checked every setting I can think of, so i'm almost sure it's not that. However, if I move the screen back and forth I can get the screen to look "normal" only if I don't open it up all the way.
Is it my pixels? Or is there a setting I am forgetting to check?
Thanks

a) your backlight is malfunctioning
or, more likely:
b) you're suffering the iBook G3 logic board defect.
In either case, you're pretty much SOL, as repairs would likely cost more than your iBook is worth.

That is what I was afraid of. It look like however it may be rapaired at no cost to me. If that isn't the case, than I need to start saving for a new computer.

If I'm not mistaken, no, that program has since expired, unless your laptop is younger than three years. In which case: hurry!
By the way, putting weight to the left of the trackpad (the left palm rest, where the hard drive is) can temporarily help. If it does, you definitely have this problem.
