April 19 brownout

Okay, it doesn't rank up there with the Great Blackout, but I've been unable to connect to AI for hours today, usually getting a "database problem" screen or a message that the server was under tremendous load for the forums were turned off.

Given that nothing was announced, I find it hard to believe a conference call is causing that kind of server load. Anybody have an idea of what's going on?

Is there something wrong with the search function?

Everything I search for comes up empty.

I encountered the same problems with the database. I don't know what it's up, because I am not in charge of the server. Sorry for the disagreement.

Some topics such as this one Apple's Safari showing major growth amongst browsers are giving me the following error:

"There seems to have been a slight problem with the AppleInsider database.

Please try again by pressing the refresh button in your browser.

An E-Mail has been dispatched to our Technical Staff, who you can also contact if the problem persists.
