Want to find out much power an iMac Core Duo burns or how much noise it makes? Silent PC Review has a nice review of it at:

17" Apple iMac - The Official SPCR Review

2 watts on standby. 46 watts idle. 63 watts max. All at less than 22 db.

I don't know much about decibels and all that. Is 22 dB silent from a couple feet away?

I have an MBP and I'm one of those people who like their computer silent... I assumed the MBP would be this way. I bought the MBP for its portability but now I've realized the iMac is just as portable, except it needs a wall to plug into. Maybe if I complain enough they'll replace my stock MacBook Pro with an Apple gift certificate ...Then I can buy an iMac!

after moving from my homebuilt PC with a crappy ATX loud fan I'm in heaven with my mac mini.

The silence is deafening. In fact I refuse to build another loud PC. I'll probaby go with a laptop and maybe even a future iMac.

    quiet is gooooooooood.
