Who needs an OS X-compatible SB Audigy?

Terratec has announced all their "4G" sound cards will be shipping this month with OS X drivers.

That includes:

-DMX 6fire

-DMX 6fire LT

-EWS88D

-EWS88MT

-EWX 24/96

These cards are all available at <a href="http://www.audiomidi.com"; target="_blank">www.audiomidi.com</a>

I checked out the DMX 6fire and it has a breakout box and looks very sweet.

This begs the question for Apple to release new towers with a few 5.25" drive bays so I can have one of these!

I assume your post means "no one needs an OSX compatible SB audigy"... cos take it from me, Creative have no interest in the mac market not now not ever, I know this how? Some inside info. These terratec cards do look good and stack up well against the more traditional mac sound card makers, Digidesign, MOTU et al. I personally want a decent 24/96 5.1 surround firewire solution so I can watch DVDs on the cube properly. Know of any Tiger?

Yeah, that is what I mean. It's not Firewire, but M-Audio's new Sonica is USB and will do 5.1. Looks like a great product especially if you have a Mac laptop.

    I'm looking hard at the Presonus <a href="http://www.audiomidi.com/common/cfm/product.cfm?Product_ID=2721"; target="_blank">FIREstation</a>

Sure it's a little spendy but Presonus Mic pre's are not junk and I love the ADAT and mLAN support. Not to mention the 8/2 mixer and midi. Plus it doesn't take up a PCI slot. I've seen the future....and it's external!

I'm sure if terrorists bombed Redmond and announced that all PC linux/BSD kernels had secret backdoors in them, then creative would move to Mac rather quickly.
