I just bought a new ibook with airport card. Whoohoo!
I'm planning on getting an apple desktop within the month. If I put an airport card in the desktop, do I still need a base station to have the two computers communicate wirelessly?

Nope, you do not need a Base Station. I have the very same set up. A G4 and an iBook connected via airport.

No ... he already has airport in the iBook as he said, that's why he only needs one airport card ... airport doesn't materialize from nowhere.
