Good god they are fast, good god they are sexy, but, good god, they are DAMN ugly!! What is with the "bullet holes" on the back?? For all those who do not know, the new Powermac, represents another first from Apple;

Jonathon Ive was in Aruba on vacation with Heidi, his Swiss miss, so this is the first machine to be designed from the ground up, by his mother.

Hey, dont flame me, ok!! Be gentle with me, it's my first time.

i think they are to allow more air to circulate. fugly if u ask me. i'm inclined to think its gonna scream (not just in a metaphor for speed, but referring to the loud sound of the device as well).

It's not as svelte as the Quicksilvers but then again when we got the quicksilver the whiners chimed in about not having 2 5.24 bays. Now we have them and the whiners don't like the bezel. Sheesh.

How do you eject both drives? Does the eject button eject both at the same time, or do you have to do a keystroke to open the second one? Maybe Apple will release a slightly revised keyboard with them with two eject keys.

I am all over the new design. It looks like something from MIB- industrial and beautiful at the same time. Perhaps cognitive dissonance betrays me, because I just maxxxxxed the Visa for one. The QS case has gone from just slick and clean to slick and MEAN. Bulletholes? That's from the PC World throwing all it can at it... just keeps on smokin , puttin the SMACK to the 2.53Ghz InHell chips.

Apple- I am impressed. Enuf to buy one, but knowing full well that I am going to be getting a new one within 1 year- when IBM Pwr4, DDR, and associated technologies make it to Mac.

Now I have to go break the news to the G/3 that he is getting ready to go to a new home. Geez, I am no good at this sort of thing.

You people are a bunch of vain idiots.

FINALLY, we have a Powermac with true expandability, with a second external drive bay, and all you runts can do is whine about front fascia of it.

I personally don't understand what is so ugly about it.

Comparing it to my Sawtooth, it looks a hell of a lot more stylish. That polished bezel adds some class, the vents in front are cool looking AND functional...only eyesore is that dumb exposed speaker that every kid under 10 is going to want to poke out. Me, I just want to ram my cock into that glory hole on top! But then, the Quicksiver had that speaker too, and you whiners didn't bitch about that, did you?

This is the most functional tower case from Apple, EVER. The functionality alone is beautiful, and if you can't see that then you must be some trendy GAP mutha who's vanity is matched only by the shallowness of your life. Get over the stylin' and worry about what counts, muthas.

Gosh Dog, Um there is a really big power supply not too far from there, you might want to consider that instead of probing the new PM, you should be probing through the Yellow Pages for some help in your area.

ok.. the chrome( ? ) face plate doesn't jive with the rest. The vent holes look HR Geiger-esque (guy that brought us Aliens mind you).

Heck, maybe Apple is edging towards a mean bio-organic look (a la aliens).

Otherwise, this looks like a design hack for new internals.

Hopefully G5 (if it ever actually comes out) will sport a TOTALLY revamped case and especially face.

    blargh... yuk

Yeah, just returned from the emergency pysch lock-down ward. Don't ask, don't tell.

And will someone please find their sense of humor here? Dumbass, I'm being sarcastic when I speak of humping a Powermac.

But you must admit these are fine Macs....not great, but very fine indeed. A decent stepping stone to the Power 5 or whatever it will be called.

You can bet the Ti finish bezel is just a sign of things to come with the next revision including XXX next generation processor.

The G5 or Power4 or whatever will have a Titanium casing like the xServe. Im sure its all ready to go, Apple just needs that next-gen processor to fill the bad boy. They wont waste a whole new case on an incremental (although substantial) upgrade.

    !I love snpp.com!

Salesman: [quickly] These are speed holes. They make the car go faster.

    Homer: Oh, yeah. Speed holes!

[bullets riddle the car and smash the windshield]

Salesman: You want my advice? I think you should buy this car.
